Product: ‘Frozen goodness’, a dairy free alternative to ice cream
Nobó produces a dairy free alternative to ice cream, made from Coconut Milk and Avocado. The Nobó ‘Frozen Goodness’ contains no dairy, no gluten, no refined sugar and no gums or stabilisers.
Founders of Nobó, husband and wife team Rachel and Brian Nolan joined Food Works in 2012 in order to help them to bring Nobó from concept through to market.
Speaking about the influence of the programme, Rachel Nolan said, “We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Having the support of the Food Works team and expertise to lean on gave us confidence and direction in the early days. To have such concentrated support from three key agencies in one place is unique and provides the ideal platform from which to develop a young food business. The programme asks a lot of you, and can be challenging, but if you are willing to give it the attention and energy it deserves you will no doubt gain a huge amount. It will help guarantee you are focusing your efforts in the right places to ensure any product launch is both sustainable and scalable.”
The company currently exports to the UK and the Middles East and is on offer in Wholefoods (UK), Spinneys (Dubai) and Waitrose (Dubai). In Ireland the range is sold in Super Valu, Dunnes Stores and 100+ independent stores.
Nobó have been awarded a total of 16 Great Taste Awards across their range of 5 flavours including two 3 Star awards for their Fresh Lemon (Top 50 Foods UK & Ireland) and their Irish Salted Caramel flavour. Nobó’s Instagram following has been steadily growing and it now has one of the largest Instagram followings of any Irish food brand, reaching over 15,000 fans who interact with the brand and share their photos of Nobó on a daily basis.
Last month Nobó launched a natural coconut yoghurt to the food service market after two years of development work. Made from single origin Indonesian coconut milk and containing no sugar, the coconut milk yoghurt is rich and creamy and provides a vegan, plant based natural yogurt alternative. Nobó are also currently developing an exciting range of plant based chocolates.
